Family Profiles

I’m a South Carolina native whose energy comes from the many amazing people I’m privileged to have in my life. Apart from my faith, my family is the most important thing in my life — and I am very lucky to have a community of friends who have become “chosen family,” too. I consider myself to be very loyal, and once you’re my person, you’re my person for life. I’m a big planner whether it’s organizing my week, helping my clients work towards their goals, coordinating a celebration for a friend, or plotting my next getaway. I love to travel, and I thrive being outdoors: running (yes, I’m one of those weird people who loves it!), catching up friends on a walk, or enjoying one of the fantastic restaurants near me. I’m an absolute fanatic when it comes to college football, especially cheering on my alma mater (Roll Tide!).

I have always wanted to be a mother, and I’ve always imagined having a family that would intertwine with the community I’ve built. While I am not a parent yet, I do believe that I’ve had a positive impact and role in many kids lives that I am blessed to be in as an aunt or honorary aunt. I love to be involved in their lives, whether it be through quality time as they get older or a helping hand when they are younger. I am so thankful that their parents allow me to have such a special role in their lives. I know that adoption has always been on my heart, even before I found out that I would not be able to be a biological mother. I know that I could provide the love, guidance, and stability that a child needs.

My greatest desire is to be a mom. I want nothing more than to raise my kids and have them know, love, and be loved by me — and by this amazing community I’m surrounded by. I am surrounded by a close community of family and friends who support me wholeheartedly. They will welcome and love a new addition to our family, and I know they would play an active role in their upbringing - just like how I am involved in their kids’ lives now. I think my why is best summed up in the words of one of my friends: “We believe that adoption is a beautiful and natural extension of Katie’s heart for others and her commitment to building a loving family.”
