When It Takes More Than Two to Make a Baby: Event Recap

Recently, our team took a journey up to Philadelphia to attend the 2nd annual “When It Takes More Than Two to Make a Baby” conference at Thomas Jefferson University. The conference is specifically designed for infertility counseling and is sponsored by the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the university.

The three day conference was broken up into three categories: Fundamentals, Advanced Counseling and Ethics. Focus was given to the different types of families made possible by ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology), gamete donation and surrogacy.

Ashley Stephens, Social Worker at Thompson Dove Law Group, reflects on the experience:

“It was one of the best, most informative conferences I have ever been to. It was perfect for both the newcomer to ART and the seasoned professional. It was small enough to be informal, and people felt comfortable asking questions. It was incredible to experience such a wide variety of professionals and to learn from their diverse experiences.”

Due to advances in the assisted reproductive technologies, and the psychological, ethical and legal issues that naturally accompany this growth… the conference could not have come at a better time. We are truly looking forward to attending this annual conference for years to come!
